Pakistan’s explosive batsman, Fakhar Zaman, has signed with the Desert Vipers for the third edition of the UAE’s International League T20 (ILT20).
Fakhar Zaman joins fellow Pakistanis Azam Khan and Mohammad Amir, who have been retained by the Desert Vipers in the ILT20. Both Azam and Amir played crucial roles in the previous editions, and their continued presence bolsters the team’s depth and experience. However, the Vipers will miss the services of fast bowler Shaheen Afridi, who is unable to participate due to international commitments.
The ILT20 is scheduled to run from January 11 to February 9, 2025. The tournament will feature a mix of seasoned players and emerging stars, making it a must-watch event for cricket enthusiasts.
The Desert Vipers have made strategic additions to their squad, including Dan Lawrence, David Payne, Lockie Ferguson, and Max Holden, alongside Fakhar Zaman. Retained players such as Adam Hose, Alex Hales, and Wanindu Hasaranga ensure a strong core for the team.
Here are some key players signed and retained by the other teams in the ILT20:
- Abu Dhabi Knight Riders have added players like Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar and Roston Chase, while retaining stars like Andre Russell and Sunil Narine.
- Dubai Capitals welcome new faces such as Shai Hope and Najibullah Zadran, with David Warner and Sikandar Raza among the retained.
- Gulf Giants have signed Tymal Mills and Tom Curran, retaining key players like Chris Jordan and James Vince.
- MI Emirates bring in Romario Shepherd and Tom Banton, with Kieron Pollard and Nicholas Pooran among the retained.
- Sharjah Warriorz have signed Adam Milne and Adil Rashid, retaining players like Kusal Mendis and Tom Kohler-Cadmore.
