The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has launched an internship program in line with the youth-focused vision of the Chief Minister. In its first phase, 12 students have joined the Town Planning Wing.
The program offers internship opportunities to students from leading universities in the city. Twelve students from various programs at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) were selected, in collaboration with university faculty, to work with the Town Planning Wing.
Interns will also gain practical experience in Town Planning, Urban Development, Metropolitan Planning, and Engineering Wings. LDA Director General Tahir Farooq welcomed the interns, highlighting that the LDA is opening its doors to research and innovation. He noted that partnering with educational institutions will enhance the authority’s efficiency.
He encouraged the interns to conduct their research within the LDA and share their findings and insights with the organization. The DG added that IT-based reforms are being introduced at the LDA under the direction of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, and the feedback from university students will play a role in these reforms.
