Motorway Police Close Sections of M1 and M2

The motorway police have shut down key sections of the M2 and M1 motorways due to a PTI rally in Lahore, causing major traffic issues for travelers.

According to officials, traffic on the M2 motorway from Chakri has been stopped, while vehicles from Neela Dullah are being redirected to alternative routes to manage congestion near the rally. The M1 motorway, connecting major cities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has also seen partial closures at various locations.

These actions have disrupted travel between Punjab, Islamabad, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with many travelers facing delays. People traveling to Lahore from the northern parts of the country have reported longer travel times, and traffic jams have been spotted near Chakri and Neela Dullah due to the diversions.

The motorway police have stated that these closures are necessary for managing security and maintaining order ahead of the rally. Commuters are advised to check traffic updates and plan their routes to avoid further inconvenience.

The situation has resulted in long lines of vehicles, and the authorities are working to manage the traffic flow and minimize disruptions for those on the roads.
