HMD, the parent company of Nokia, is about to launch a successor to this year’s budget-friendly phone, the HMD Aura. HMD launched the Aura this year at the end of May 2024 and now there are rumors and leaks for the HMD Aura 2. Some key upgrades about the phone have been spotted online courtesy of tipsters on X.
The Aura 2 will come with the same 6.56-inch LCD size but will now feature a 90Hz display rather than a 60Hz like its predecessor. Looking at the back, there is no difference in the main camera in terms of hardware upgrades. It has the same dual-camera setup consisting of a 13MP main and a 0.8MP secondary camera. The only improvement is the front-facing camera jumping from a 5MP to an 8MP sensor.

The Aura 2 will come with a 5,000 mAh battery, which remains unchanged, ensuring that the user can breeze through the day without worrying about their phone dying. There was no mention of the charging speeds, but hopefully, it will be an improvement compared to the older Aura which was only 10W.
In terms of processing capabilities, the Aura 2 will come with a UNISOC T603 SoC. It will come with 4GB of RAM and either 64 GB or 128 GB of storage, which will be expandable through a microSD card slot.
HMD Aura will come with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor as opposed to a rear-mounted one from last year’s phone. It will also have a USB type-C port, OTG support, and an audio jack. It will also have an IP52 dust and water resistance rating.
There is no confirmation on the launch date and pricing of the HMD Aura 2, but it should be revealed soon.
