In a somewhat unexpected crossover of worlds, former WBA and IBF light-welterweight champion Amir Khan has been talking to the media in total praise for the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir.
While speaking to the media, Amir Khan was full of praise for the COAS, stating that he was a sincere and visionary military leader who wanted to see Pakistan progress and prosper. The British-Pakistani boxer mentioned that he and General Asim Munir had met on two occasions and that he found him to be a thoroughly sincere person.
“Meeting Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir was amazing. He’s very good and honest. He’s an amazing guy. He is a visionary who wants Pakistan to progress, he wants to take Pakistan forward in all areas including in sports and education. I am very proud of him,” Amir Khan stated.
He further elaborated on his two meetings with the COAS saying “We had a good chat over snacks. In my honest opinion, General Asim Munir is the best army chief Pakistan ever had. He’s very honest, very real and I am proud of Pakistan for picking someone like him.”
The British-Pakistani boxer was granted the honorary rank of captain by the Pakistan Army earlier this year. He also mentioned that he would be coming to Pakistan soon for some work related to sports and charity. He further thanked the Pakistan Army for supporting him in his work.
