A meeting intended for the direct signing of players for the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been postponed. According to sources the reason for this postponement is unknown.
The meeting was set to occur for the direct signing of players for the upcoming edition of the domestic premier tournament. Additionally, the planned meeting was also meant to finalize the date for the PSL 10 draft. Sources familiar with the situation indicated that no date has been set for the rescheduled PSL meeting.
It is to be noted that these particular meetings are especially crucial this time around, with the tenth edition of the Pakistan Super League set to clash with the much more financially attractive IPL. The issue of player availability will surely have to be discussed with regard to international talent since most players are likely to choose the much higher-paying IPL if they are given the option.
The PCB was forced to push the PSL forward from its usual timeframe due to Pakistan’s potential hosting of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, which is set to take place during February and March next year.
The last edition of the PSL was won by Islamabad United, who defeated Multan Sultans in the final which took place at the National Stadium Karachi, marking their third PSL title.
