Kiwi all-rounder Mark Chapman has expressed his desire to play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in the future, admitting that he has a keen interest in the league.
PSL is set to expand for its 11th season in 2026 to eight teams, further solidifying its status as one of the premier T20 cricket tournaments.
During a ProSports Podcast New Zealand’s Mark Chapman expressed his desire to join the PSL while stating, “We’ve had a couple of Kiwi lads who have played in the PSL in the previous seasons, and we always keep track of how they are going. We see the fans, the colors, the packed stadiums and that’s what you want as a player. So, yeah, absolutely I would love to play in the PSL why not!”
Chapman boasts an impressive record against Pakistan, with an average of 45.00 and a strike rate of 160. His performance in Pakistan is even more remarkable, where he averages 104 and maintains a strike rate of 163.77.
Moreover, out of his 541 career runs against Pakistan, 416 were scored on Pakistani soil which means his batting record is prolific in the conditions of Pakistan.
“If I could be based and play in Rawalpindi, I would certainly sign a contract right now,” Chapman added hinting towards a potential move to Islamabad United franchise.
Having played in leagues like the Lanka Premier League, Caribbean Premier League, and Canada’s GT20, Chapman’s potential inclusion would further elevate the PSL’s international appeal.
