Xiaomi is set to launch the Xiaomi 15 series next month, following Qualcomm’s release of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. The series will likely include the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, both of which have appeared in various leaks.
A new leak from Weibo tipster “Experience More” reveals a major camera upgrade for the Xiaomi 15 Pro. According to the tipster, the Xiaomi 15 Pro will feature the same telephoto camera as the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, the best telephoto camera in any Xiaomi phone yet. The phone will upgrade its telephoto sensor to the Sony IMX858, offering a 120 mm focal length and 5x lossless zoom. For comparison, the Xiaomi 14 Pro has a 75 mm telephoto lens with 3.2x optical zoom.
The Sony IMX858, used in the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, has a 50MP Quad Bayer sensor with a 1/2.51-inch optical format and 0.7µm pixels. The Xiaomi 15 Pro is expected to include a 50MP main sensor with a variable aperture from f/1.4 to f/2.5, as well as a 50MP ultrawide lens, besides the telephoto upgrade.
Additional specs include a centered punch-hole display with 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone will have a metal frame, with rumors of a more premium titanium edition. It will be 8.5mm thick and weigh around 220 grams.
Both Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro Titanium Edition have passed 3C certification, confirming support for 90W wired charging. An ultrasonic fingerprint sensor will manage security. The devices will also offer full-function NFC, infrared remote control, dual speakers, and IP68 dust and water resistance.
