Infinix’s latest entry-level offering has arrived without much fanfare and advertises up to 48 months of fluent operation. The Smart 9 is available in Bangladesh and Malaysia and will likely arrive in Pakistan later.
Despite having an LCD panel, the Infinix Smart 9 supports Always-On display on top of its 6.7-inch 720p screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The punch-hole selfie camera transforms into a Dynamic Bar to show notifications and other information similar to the iPhone’s Dynamic Island.
The internals are powered by MediaTek’s Helio G81 SoC and as mentioned before, it promises a “48-month fluency” period, but only with the 128 GB version. However, do not expect a lag-free experience in the first 2 years either as Infinix says this label does not mean there will be “absolutely no lag.”
You get 3 GB and 4 GB RAM options alongside 64 GB and 128 GB storage variants, which are expandable through a microSD card. You get Android 14 Go Edition with XOS 14 on top.
The 13MP main sensor on the back is accompanied by a secondary auxiliary unit mostly just there for show. Video recording capabilities go up to 1080p 30 FPS and the front camera is an 8MP snapper with an f/2.0, wide-angle lens.
The 5,000 mAh battery comes with support for 10W wired charging as well as reverse wired charging.
The Infinix Smart 9 starts at only $65 in Malaysia. The price for the 128 GB variant is yet to be revealed. You can choose between Black, Mint Green, Gold, and Silver color options.
