Punjab Ensures Continued Subsidy for Metro Bus and Orange Line Train

The Punjab Revenue Department has allocated Rs. 4.3 billion from the 2024-25 provincial budget as a subsidy for the Metro Bus and Orange Line Train services. This subsidy ensures that commuters will continue to benefit from discounted fares on both transportation systems.

Additionally, the salaries of employees working for the Metro Bus Service and Orange Line will be paid from these funds.

In a separate development, the Punjab Finance Department has allocated Rs. 35 billion to the police department. These funds will cover operational expenses, salary payments, and fuel costs.

Furthermore, Rs. 2 billion has been set aside for 552 Primary Health Units (PHUs) to procure medicines and manage other operational expenses.
