Samsung May Kill Off The Regular Galaxy S26 in 2026

Rumors suggest that Samsung may shake up its flagship Galaxy S phone lineup in 2026. While the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra are expected to launch in January 2025 as usual, the company may skip the vanilla Galaxy S26 entirely.

This mirrors a similar move with Samsung’s tablets, where the standard Galaxy Tab S9 was absent from the 2023 release, leaving only the Galaxy Tab S9+ and S9 Ultra models. Now it seems that Samsung is willing to go the same route with its S series phones.

The standard Galaxy S26 may be canceled, leaving only the Galaxy S26+ and S26 Ultra to launch, potentially in January 2026. This rumored change comes amid increasing competition from Chinese manufacturers reportedly planning to release smaller, high-spec devices.

The Galaxy S25 may struggle against this competition, and the S26 could be even more vulnerable. While the source of this rumor, Ice Universe, has a generally reliable history, they have been known to exaggerate, so this information should be treated with caution.

Samsung’s latest release is the Galaxy S24 FE, which was announced last week but is set to retail in October. It is expected to be a little late in Pakistan, reportedly arriving by November with a price tag of Rs. 224,999.

The phone brings a few upgrades to the table such as a better screen and a slightly bigger vapor chamber for cooling. It is powered by the Exynos 2400e chipset and has a 4,700 mAh battery with 25W wired and 15W wireless charging.
