Quaid-i-Azam University to Remain Closed for Three Days

Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) is suspending all academic activities and transport services for Friday, October 4, 2024, in light of the prevailing situation in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

In a notification issued today, the university administration stated that buses would only operate on their regular routes until 4:00 PM on Thursday, October 3. No further bus services would be available after that time.

With the closure falling on a Friday, and the weekend following, the university will remain closed for three consecutive days, including Saturday and Sunday.

The decision to suspend classes and transport services was due to political protests in the federal capital. It is pertinent to mention that authorities have already sealed the Red Zone in Islamabad ahead of anticipated protest by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

As per the details, containers have been positioned on roads leading to the Red Zone, leaving only Margalla Road accessible.

Similar blockades have been set up at Faizabad on the Express Highway, resulting in long lines of vehicles. Early morning commuters, including those heading to offices and schools, encountered major challenges on the roads.
