Ravichandran Ashwin Feels Sorry for Pakistan Cricket

Star Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has stated that he feels sorry looking at Pakistan cricket in its current state.

In an interview, he mentioned that Pakistan is well known for developing some of the greatest players in the history of the sport. “As a cricketer, I feel that Pakistan is a proud cricketing nation who are renowned for having skilful players in all areas of the game.”

He went on to explain that the current issues of Pakistan cricket are akin to a game of musical chairs, alluding to the constant shuffling in terms of captaincy that has taken place in recent times.

He further pointed to the fact that this ever-present chopping and changing of the captaincy had contributed to the steep decline in Pakistan cricket which has seen the team struggle to win even a single test match at home.

The Indian spin maestro, who recently equalled Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan’s record for most player of the series awards in tests, explained that as a cricketer it would be hard to decide whether to focus on one’s own game or whether to focus on the team amidst the current turmoil of Pakistan cricket.

“With all the instability in the dressing room, players will try to prioritise personal interests over the betterment of the team”, he said.
