A British teacher has been sentenced to three years in prison by the Abu Dhabi Federal Court of Appeal.
The court also imposed a Dh5,000 fine and ordered his deportation after serving his sentence.
He was found guilty of accepting bribes from students at the school where he worked.
The teacher accepted bribes to alter exam results and unfairly raise students’ grades, damaging the integrity of the UAE’s education system.
The court’s decision followed an investigation by the Public Prosecution, which uncovered clear evidence of the teacher’s wrongdoing.
The case was referred to the specialized criminal court, where the teacher faced trial.
Authorities are currently investigating other cases related to cheating and disruptions in the examination process.
