OnePlus 13 is Getting MagSafe-Like Wireless Charging and Accesories

OnePlus has yet to reveal the launch date for its 13th flagship, but it is expected to launch later this month. More information about the flagship continues to surface. The latest detail is the introduction of magnetic wireless charging, a feature gaining attraction in the Android ecosystem.

Interestingly, this news emerged unexpectedly. On China’s social media platform Weibo, Liu, a representative from OnePlus, responded to a fan’s query about the return of bamboo cases. This material was once famous with early OnePlus models.

Lee said that wooden cases will not be making a comeback, as there are “no plans for this CMF” at the point. However, he did hint at wood grain cases for the OnePlus 13, stating that they feel “very good.”

Lee added that the new OnePlus 13 cases will feature a “magnetic suction function,” supporting magnetic wireless charging. Oppo, OnePlus’ sister brand, is adding magnetic charging to its upcoming Find X8 series. This contains accessories like power banks, and OnePlus 13 users will assumably tap into this ecosystem, offering more charging options.

The magnetic system would also support other accessories, such as car mounts and wallet cases, providing a more integrated user experience, similar to Apple’s MagSafe.

Leaks indicate that the OnePlus 13 will have a slightly curved 2K LTPO display, powered by the beastly  Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor. It will feature a triple 50MP rear camera setup and an enormous 6,000 mAh battery. The OnePlus 13 is expected to support 100W fast wired charging and 50W magnetic wireless charging.

Following its typical launch pattern, OnePlus will likely debut the OnePlus 13 in China first, followed by a global release.
