Pakistan’s New Selection Committee Announced

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the formation of its new men’s national team selection committee.

The newly appointed selection committee comprises:

• Aleem Dar: A former ICC elite umpire, Aleem Dar brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the game. His extensive international exposure and a keen eye for talent are expected to add significant value to the selection process.
• Aqib Javed: A former fast bowler and a key member of Pakistan’s 1992 World Cup-winning squad, Aqib Javed has been involved in coaching and cricket development roles. His insights into player development and team dynamics will be crucial in identifying and nurturing emerging talent.
• Asad Shafiq: Known for his solid technique and reliability, Asad Shafiq has been a mainstay in Pakistan’s Test line-up. His firsthand experience as a player will provide valuable insights into the current form and potential of players vying for national selection.
• Azhar Ali: A former captain and one of Pakistan’s most dependable batsmen, Azhar Ali’s leadership skills and strategic acumen will be instrumental in the committee’s decision-making process. The formation of this committee follows the recent resignation of Muhammad Yousuf from the selection panel, prompting the PCB to reassess and restructure its approach to team selection.
