Former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg has urged people not to compare the bad runs of form between Babar Azam and Virat Kohli in the wake of the former Pakistan captain being dropped from the Test side.
In a post on social media site X, the former left-arm legspinner has urged that some tough calls needed to be made with regards to Babar Azam going forward.
Hogg explained that during Kohli’s dip in form, India had the second-best 2nd best win percentage, whereas Pakistan had the second-worst win percentage through Babar’s ongoing barren patch.
This also comes as a contrarian view to Fakhar Zaman’s recent show of defense for Babar Azam, where the Lahore Qalandars batter noted that India did not drop Virat Kohli during his bad run of form and that Pakistan should try to do the same with Azam.
Babar was dropped from the side along with pacers Naseem Shah and Shaheen Afridi with workload management being cited as the reason for them being culled. This has also come at a time when Babar has once again stepped down from his role as captain. The dropping of the three high-profile players has further fueled the debate on the continuing chaos that is Pakistan Cricket.
