PCB Serves Show Cause Notice to Fakhar Zaman for Supporting Babar Azam

Update:

Fakhar Zaman has been served a show cause notice by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) fo his Tweet in support of Babar Azam, after the middle-order batter was dropped from the Test squad for the remainder of the England series.

Fakhar Zaman has allegedly drawn the ire of the hierarchy of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after his recent comments of support regarding Babar Azam.

Babar was recently omitted from the remainder of the three-test match series against England which did not sit well with many former players and spectators including Fakhar Zaman.

In a derisive post on X (formerly Twitter), the batter took shots at PCB’s decision to drop its most prolific scorer during his struggles even bringing up India’s patience with Virat Kohli during his runs drought a few years back.

Fakhar’s outright support for Babar seems to have upset several members of the PCB as reported by sources. According to PCB source,

The top board officials are not pleased with the tweet sent out by Fakhar and relevant persons are having a word with him about it

Fakhar’s ongoing feud with PCB has been making headlines for a while now.

The left-hander recently criticized the cricket board’s NOCs issuing policies as well with the latest controversy likely wedge the divide between the two even further.

PCB has not issued a statement to address the incident so it remains to be seen whether Fakhar will face any repercussions for his actions.

Fakhar Zaman is currently captaining Pakistan Television during the ongoing President’s Cup and will likely suit up in the international colours during Pakistan’s upcoming tour of Australia alongside Babar Azam.
