England batter Ben Duckett broke another world record as he continued his rich vein of form against Pakistan during the second test in Multan.
The record previously belonged to New Zealand’s Tim Southee with Adam Gilchrist, Virender Sehwag, and Rishabh Pant all on the list.
During day 2’s play when Duckett smashed a century off just 120 balls, he became the fastest player to score 2000 test runs in terms of balls faced. The left-hander crossed the threshold off just 2293 balls, underscoring his importance to the team.

Duckett has always enjoyed playing against Pakistan, averaging a staggering 79.28 with 2 hundreds and 4 fifties to his name in outings against the Green Shirts. He regained his notoriety against Pakistan in 2022, mirroring England’s new Bazball style, and has since gone on to become an integral part of his team.
The 30-year-old looked to have turned the tide in England’s favor before Sajid Khan claimed three wickets in the span of 10 deliveries, to leave England struggling at 239-6 at the close of play still 127 runs behind Pakistan’s total.
England lead the three-match series 1-0 after their dominant innings and 47-run victory in the first Test.
