Customs Seize Drugs Worth Rs. 15 Million at Karachi Airport

Pakistan Customs recently foiled a smuggling attempt at Jinnah International Terminal, seizing a parcel containing crystal methamphetamine at the International Mail Office.

Acting on a tip, Customs officials discovered the parcel disguised as books which was being sent from Hyderabad to Riyadh under the name Mujahid Javed. Authorities found one kilogram of crystal meth, valued at Rs. 15 million in the international market, concealed within the package.

In a separate incident, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) conducted an operation at Karachi Airport, arresting two women heading to Saudi Arabia for begging under the pretense of performing Umrah. The women, identified as Patil Khatoon and Subhana, were apprehended after failing to produce necessary travel documents, including hotel bookings and funds for their trip.

Investigations revealed that Subhana’s son has been illegally residing in Saudi Arabia after traveling there on an Umrah visa in 2022. The FIA confirmed that her son is also a beggar, and further details are being collected.

The two women have been transferred to the Anti-Human Smuggling Circle in Karachi for further legal proceedings, and investigations are ongoing.
