Pakistan’s MMA star Ahmed Mujtaba is set to face American counterpart Kade Ruotolo at ONE Championship’s upcoming event ONE 169: Malykhin vs Reug Reug.
Mujtaba and Ruotolo will face each other in a Lightweight MMA in Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium at the show that kicks off at 5:00 am (PKT).
Mujtaba aims to arrest his slump in form after suffering back-to-back first-round defeats in his last two ONE Championship bouts in 2023.
However, the 31-year-old wants to showcase his wide striking and submission arsenal that had allowed him to pick up two impressive consecutive victories in the promotion, finishing Brazil’s Abraao Amorim via first-round submission and India’s Rahul Raju via first-round knockout.
Mujtaba faces his biggest test yet in ONE Championship against Lightweight Submission Grappling world champion Kade Ruotolo.
The 21-year-old American owns a clean 7-0 in ONE Championship. After six impressive wins in submission grappling, Ruotolo beat compatriot Blake Cooper on his MMA debut.
ONE 169: Malykhin vs Reug Reug is headlined by four world championship bouts. In the main event, undefeated three-division MMA world champion Anatoly Malykhin put his ONE Heavyweight MMA world title on the line against Senegal’s Oumar “Reug Reug” Kane.
