England Cricket team’s Vice-captain Harry Brook has admitted that he and his team are still uncertain how to Rawalpindi wicket will behave in the third test match against Pakistan.
Speaking during a media session, the destructive batter admitted that the nature of playing surface is still a mystery for his side. ” God knows to be honest” was the 25-year-old’s reply when asked about his thoughts on the prepared pitch. “Everybody (that) goes and looks at the wicket and everybody says something different. So just wait and see. Hopefully it is like another other Pakistani pitch” he continued.
With the series tied at 1-1 all the eyes are how the playing surface will behave in Rawalpindi.
The curators have already turned to innovative methods in order to produce a turning wicket which will mirror the one used in Multan and suit Pakistan’s strengths.
England seems to believe the same after naming three frontline spinners in the playing XI for the match. Pakistan is reportedly ready to go the other route with one less spinner when it announces its playing side today.
Harry Brook, meanwhile, will be hoping to recrate his magic from 2022 when he takes the field on Thursday. The Englishman currently leads the scoring books during this series courtesy of a triple-hundred in the first game. He was neutralized by a turner in the second but will be hoping for redemption in a stadium where he scored 240 runs across two innings in December 2022.
