Zimbabwe has set a new record for the highest total in T20 international history. The African nation achieved this milestone during their Group B match against Gambia in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub Regional Africa Qualifier.
Zimbabwe posted an astonishing total of 344 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs, surpassing the previous record of 314 for 3 set by Nepal against Mongolia in 2023. This extraordinary feat was spearheaded by Sikander Raza, who delivered a breathtaking innings, scoring 133 runs off just 43 balls.
Raza’s innings was a masterclass in aggressive batting, featuring 15 sixes and a four, leaving the Gambia bowlers with no answers to his onslaught.
The match, held at a vibrant venue filled with enthusiastic fans, saw Zimbabwe’s top order capitalizing on a flat pitch and favourable conditions.
Raza’s innings were complemented by solid contributions from his teammates, who supported him in maintaining a high run rate throughout the innings.
