CM Punjab Launches Safe City Project in Sheikhupura

On Thursday, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the Safe City Project in Sheikhupura. Next week, she is set to launch similar projects in four additional major cities across the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During the Sheikhupura inauguration, CM Maryam reviewed the Safe City video wall and examined the advanced communication equipment used in the project, including body cameras, rugged smartphones, and other high-tech devices. She also observed the monitoring procedures in the Safe City control room.

The project includes 273 cameras installed across 52 key locations in Sheikhupura. These cameras will facilitate automatic e-challans for traffic violations, and the system will monitor the Air Quality Index. Criminals can be identified and tracked through a Facial Recognition System, and panic buttons have been installed at ten locations. Additionally, free Wi-Fi is available at 15 sites in the city.

CM Maryam Nawaz also met with local assembly members, where the District Police Officer (DPO) briefed her on the law and order situation, and the Deputy Commissioner updated her on the progress of CM initiatives. CM Maryam also received a briefing on the construction and extension of the Sheikhupura-Sargodha Road.
