Additionally, Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar recently visited Pakistan and reportedly praised the hospitality he received while in the country. Meanwhile, the England cricket team and its fans are actively participating in matches in Rawalpindi, highlighting Pakistan’s unquestionable ability to host international events without fuss.
However, the ICC is said to be worried that the BCCI might refuse to go for the Champions Trophy 2025, citing a lack of government approval. This concern could explain the delay in the official schedule release, which is expected to be announced only after receiving a definitive response from India. So far, the Indian government has remained silent on the issue.
There was also an anticipated side meeting between PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and BCCI officials in Dubai, but Naqvi’s visit to the UAE was cut short due to domestic political unrest, preventing any opportunity for separate discussions.

India does not have to give any excuse for not sending its team to Pakistan for Champions trophy. All it has to do is say that the Indian government has not given approval. As an Indian, I don’t want my team visiting Pakistan and a vast majority of Indians feel the same way.
