Polish expat Kajetan Hubner, who recently moved to Dubai, received a warm welcome and witnessed the integrity of UAE residents firsthand. After accidentally paying Dh17,000 instead of Dh1,700 for a delivery, Kajetan was contacted by the delivery rider, who informed him of the error and arranged to return the excess amount.
“I didn’t realize I’d overpaid and thought I had just lost the money,” Kajetan shared with Khaleej Times. “The rider messaged me the next day, explaining the mistake and offering to return the money. I was astonished. Since then, we’ve stayed in touch, almost like brothers.”
For Noon rider Muhammad Mohsin Nazir, it was a surprise when he counted the money at the end of his shift. “I double-checked the delivery order and recounted the money. I even asked my colleagues to confirm it,” he said. Unsure whether it was a mistake or an enormous tip, Muhammad sought advice from his mother back in Pakistan. She encouraged him to contact Kajetan and verify the amount. That evening, Muhammad deposited Dh1,750 with Noon to ensure accuracy, then reached out to Kajetan the next day to return the extra cash.
Kajetan and his girlfriend had been staying in a hotel while they searched for a home in Dubai Marina. New to the city, Kajetan had opted for cash on delivery when purchasing an e-scooter. “When Muhammad arrived, he kindly offered to bring the package to my room, but I met him at the elevator and thanked him, paying the amount and adding a tip.”
Unaware that he had paid Dh17,050 instead of Dh1,750 due to a currency mix-up, Kajetan only realized the money was missing later. After searching through their luggage, he believed he had lost it, though his girlfriend suggested he may have overpaid.
The next day, Kajetan was feeling down until he received Muhammad’s message about the overpayment. “I was stunned,” he recalled. Later that day, Muhammad returned the money, refusing a Dh300 reward. “He told me his reward was with Allah and that it was his duty to return the money,” Kajetan said. “I am so grateful for his honesty.”
Kajetan posted a video of the exchange with Muhammad’s permission, which went viral on social media. Noon has since recognized Muhammad for his integrity.

publicity stunt.
that is how average Pakistani is, but our govt and authorities want everyone to be corrupt like them. So that’s why we see least honesty among ourselves.
