Sui Northern Issues Revised Gas Supply Schedule

Following the federal government’s directives, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has issued a revised gas schedule for consumers, with natural gas supply times set from 6:00 am to 9:00 am, 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, and 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

SNGPL Executive Officer (Technical) Muhammad Faisal informed a local publisher that, in line with government instructions, full gas pressure is provided within these scheduled hours across all areas. Faisal acknowledged occasional disruptions due to technical issues but assured that SNGPL is committed to maintaining steady gas flow during scheduled times throughout winter.

Despite these assurances, widespread complaints persist, with many residents reporting low or no gas pressure, even during the allocated periods. President of the Rawalpindi Naanbhais Welfare Association (RNWA), Muhammad Shafiq Qureshi, expressed frustration, noting that many tandoor operators are forced to rely on costly gas cylinders year-round due to inconsistent supply.

Additionally, some operators have resorted to removing gas meters altogether due to high bills, despite receiving minimal gas. Consumers across Rawalpindi similarly voiced concerns, stating that gas shortages persisted even through the summer months, leading to significant inconvenience.
