Govt Blocks Passports of 4000 Pakistanis Jailed in Saudi Arabia

The Pakistani government has blocked the passports of 4,000 Pakistani citizens imprisoned in Saudi Arabia.

Sources indicate that Saudi authorities have detained these Pakistani citizens on charges of begging and involvement in other crimes. According to the report, the passports of these individuals have been blocked for seven years. Over 60% of those detained reportedly come from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.

Pakistani officials are issuing emergency travel documents to facilitate the return of these individuals. Authorities have stated that the deportation process from Saudi Arabia will begin soon, and legal action will be taken against the offenders upon their arrival in Pakistan.

  • Dual standards of Saudi govt, they jail ordinary beggars but give aid / zakat / loans to govt officials.

    • These are moral issues of our country. We go beg in their country and our government beg them to for aid, loans and zakat. That is our dual standard. They do what they have to do for the protection.
