“Extreme Queen,” Lita is rumored to be making her return to the ring for the first time in over a year. The former Women’s Champion is reportedly set to appear on WWE NXT next week and could make her in-ring return at a significant event next month.
On November 6th, NXT will host a special event at the historic 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, a venue renowned for its rich history with Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). The show aims to pay tribute to ECW’s legacy, featuring appearances from several of its legendary figures.
Among the confirmed appearances, Dawn Marie will make her first return to WWE in nearly two decades, serving as the special guest referee for a Hardcore match between Jaida Parker and Lola Vice. Additionally, former ECW Tag Team Champion and Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley, along with Rob Van Dam, are expected to participate in the event following Van Dam’s recent appearance at Halloween Havoc.
According to recent reports, Lita has been in discussions to be involved in the upcoming NXT show. While she has not been seen on WWE television since WrestleMania 39, a pitch has been made for her to participate in a tag team match, potentially an 8 or 10-woman tag team bout.
Lita’s connection to ECW dates back to 1999 when she debuted as Miss Congeniality before adopting the ring name Angelica, which she used on the independent circuit. During her time in ECW, she competed in four matches, with her final bout being a loss to Jazz. If Lita does compete at the NXT event, it will also be her debut match on the NXT brand.
