In response to the rapid pace of technological innovation, Honor has doubled down with two flagship launches this year. After introducing the Magic 6 series in January, the company is now unveiling the Honor Magic 7 series, offering advanced hardware upgrades across various aspects: a more powerful chipset, larger batteries, faster charging speeds, and enhanced durability.
Design and Display
The Pro’s 6.8” LTPO OLED display offers a smooth 1-120Hz refresh rate, 1,280 x 2,800px resolution, and impressive HDR brightness reaching 5,000 nits. Meanwhile, the Magic 7 offers a flat 6.78” LTPO OLED display.
Both models carry IP68/IP69 ratings, offering protection against water, dust, and even hot water jets—a step up from the Magic 6 series. The Magic7 comes in Black, White, Gray, Blue, and Gold, while the Pro comes in Black, White, Gray, and Blue. Both screens have ultrasonic fingerprint readers and support for high-frequency PWM dimming (4,320Hz).
The regular Honor Magic 7 only has a small punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera since it does not include a 3D face scanner like the Pro model, as shown in the images below.
Internals and Software
The Honor Magic 7 and Magic 7 Pro are powered by the newly launched flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, engineered to elevate AI applications and raise performance numbers. The Snapdragon 8 Elite also brings a lot more power efficiency to the table and enhanced GPU performance.
Both phones are offered with up to 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage options, but with no microSD card slot.
Both phones will come with the latest Android 15, topped with Honor’s own magicOS 9. Satellite connectivity is exclusively available through the Beidou system, effectively limiting its use to China.
Camera
The camera department’s main shooter on both models remains a 50MP 1/1.3” sensor with a variable aperture (f/1.4-f/2.0) and OIS. The ultra-wide camera matches at 50MP with a 12mm lens (122°), capable of close-up macro shots. For selfies, a 50MP sensor paired with a 90° lens and 3D face scanner (on the Pro only) enables secure biometric unlocking, even in low-light conditions.
The Pro model boasts a standout 200MP telephoto camera, an upgrade from the Magic 6 Pro’s 180MP, with a large 1/1.4” sensor behind a 60mm lens, enabling a flexible 2.5x optical zoom that extends to 100x digitally.
Battery and Pricing
The Pro’s battery capacity has increased to 5,850 mAh, supporting 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. The regular Magic 7 comes with a slightly smaller 5,650 mAh battery and the same fast charging speeds.
For the Chinese market, pre-orders for the Magic 7 series open today, with availability beginning November 8. Prices are set at $630 for the Magic 7 and $800 for the Pro model, with configurations up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage available.
