Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan has voiced optimism for the Pakistan cricket team under the leadership of the newly announced captain Mohammad Rizwan.
The leg-spinner showed strong support for Rizwan’s captaincy, expressing confidence in the wicketkeeper-batsman’s abilities ahead of the team’s upcoming series against Australia. Speaking during an event in Riyadh, Shadab commended Rizwan’s ability to steer the team toward success. “With Rizwan as captain, the team will gather successes,” Shadab affirmed, optimistic about Pakistan’s prospects under Rizwan’s command.
Last week, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi officially named Rizwan captain for both ODIs and T20s, with Salman Ali Agha as his vice-captain. The upcoming 3 ODI and 3 T2oI series will present a tough challenge for the new skipper’s ability to handle adversity.
Shadab Khan has seen the new captain’s abilities up close during their many battles in the Pakistan Super League. While both have managed to lead their teams to a PSL pennant, Rizwan has distinguished himself as one of the finest minds in Pakistan’s cricketing circles.
Shadab, despite being left out of the Australia tour, will be hoping to get back into the international team and play for Rizwan as soon as possible.
