Muhammad Huraira has been appointed the captain of the Pakistan Shaheens for their upcoming series against Sri Lanka A.
The two teams will play two four-day matches and three one-day internationals at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from November 11 to November 29.
At just 22 years old, Huraira has made a significant mark in domestic cricket, amassing 3,310 runs in 40 first-class matches, highlighted by eight centuries and 14 half-centuries. In the List-A format, he has scored 632 runs in 25 matches, featuring one century and one half-century to his name.
He will take over the leadership role from Mohammad Haris underscoring PCB’s trust in him as a regular member of the national team in the coming years.
Meanwhile, the selection committee has recalled Hussain Talat as the other international player, while Muhammad Ghazi Ghori and Ahmed Safi Abdullah have received their first call-ups to the Shaheens. Abdul Samad, Haider Ali, Maaz Sadaqat, Mohammad Haris, Mohammad Imran Jnr, and Rohail Nazir have been retained after representing the country in the ACC Men’s Emerging Teams T20 Asia Cup.
