The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has announced the much-anticipated return of the Inter-Provincial Games set to take place next month.
The week-long event will kick off on December 13 at the Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad and returns after a seven-year hiatus, where approximately 3,000 athletes and officials are expected to participate. The PSB emphasized that these Games aim to promote unity and elevate athletic talent from all corners of the country, with participants from every province set to compete across multiple sporting disciplines.
Extensive preparations are reportedly underway, including facility upgrades, logistical arrangements, and collaboration with provincial teams to ensure a grand celebration of national unity and sporting prowess.
Director General of PSB, Yasir Pirzada, highlighted the board’s commitment to reviving this esteemed event. “After seven long years, it is a testament to PSB’s dedication and hard work that we are able to hold these Games. We are committed to providing an exceptional platform for athletes to showcase their skills and for provinces to come together in the spirit of healthy competition,” he stated.
The return of the Inter-Provincial Games is a significant step toward reinvigorating Pakistan’s sports landscape and fostering camaraderie among provinces especially during times where athletic opportunities for Pakistani athletes are almost no existent.
