Govt to Charge Up to Rs. 356,000 in Lost Passport Fee

The federal government of Pakistan recently announced a new fee structure for passports, with individuals to pay up to Rs. 356,000 for losing the travel book.

For a 5-year, 36-page e-passport, the normal fee is set at Rs. 3,000, and the urgent fee is Rs. 15,000.

For a 75-page e-passport, the 10-year validity has a normal fee of Rs. 15,500 and an urgent fee of Rs. 27,000.

For MRPs, a 36-page passport with a 5-year validity costs Rs. 4,500 for normal processing, Rs. 7,500 for urgent, and Rs. 13,500 for fast-track services. A 72-page, 10-year MRP will have a normal fee of Rs. 6,700, an urgent fee of Rs. 11,200, and a fast-track fee of Rs. 16,200.

For a 100-page MRP valid for 5 years, the normal fee is Rs. 9,000, the urgent fee is Rs. 18,000, and the fast-track fee is Rs. 23,000. A 10-year, 100-page MRP costs Rs. 13,500 for normal processing, Rs. 17,000 for urgent, and Rs. 32,000 for fast-track.

Separate fees apply for lost passports. For the first loss, the fee is Rs. 54,000, and for a third loss, it rises to Rs. 356,000.
