Two former white-ball captains had a heartening moment on the pitch when Babar Azam rushed to help struggling Shaheen Afridi who was hit by the ball on the bowling thumb during the series decider earlier today.

Shaheen was trying to stop the overthrow when he misjudged the flight of the ball and was hit by the ball. Babar Azam immediately held the hand of Shaheen Afridi and started working his magic on what appeared to be a dislocated thumb.

Soon after, the team’s physio stepped on the field and sprayed Shaheen’s hand with instant pain relief spray, enabling him to continue bowling. Shaheen ended the innings with 3 wickets.
