Federal Minister Reveals Payment Plan for Hajj 2025

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Chaudhry Salik Hussain has officially announced the Hajj Policy for 2025, revealing that 179,210 pilgrim slots will be available this year.

During a press conference in Islamabad, he disclosed that half of the quota, or 79,600 pilgrims, will be equally divided between government and private sector arrangements.

The minister stated that a group of 2,000 individuals will be formed for the next year’s Hajj. He revealed that applicants will need to submit their Haj applications with an initial payment of Rs. 200,000.

After the draw, another Rs. 400,000 will need to be paid. The remaining amount must be settled by February, before the start of the pilgrimage.

A key change in this year’s policy is the decision to restrict Hajj participation to adults only, with minors no longer eligible for the pilgrimage. Additionally, the compensation for pilgrims who pass away during Hajj has been significantly increased from Rs. 1 million to Rs. 2 million.

The announcement comes after the Federal Cabinet approved the Hajj Policy, which also outlined the government Haj package. The cost for the government Hajj package is expected to range between Rs. 1,065,000 and Rs. 1,075,000 this year.
