Islamabad’s district administration has intensified its efforts to dismantle the “agent mafia” around government offices, especially near the excise department. Recently, they arrested eleven unauthorized agents in an ongoing crackdown.
The administration’s spokesperson confirmed that they are working to stop unauthorized agents from operating outside the excise office. In a recent raid, the Assistant Commissioner from the Industrial Area detained eleven agents near government premises.
The district administration urges citizens to handle their official tasks directly with the excise department to avoid relying on intermediaries. Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon emphasized that public cooperation is essential for this anti-agent campaign to succeed.
To support this effort, additional service counters have been set up at the excise office to accommodate increased demand, reducing citizens’ need to turn to agents.
These recent arrests bring the total number of detained agents to eleven in the past two days. This move demonstrates the administration’s commitment to simplifying government processes and preventing interference in official matters.
Islamabad’s DC has instructed relevant authorities to closely monitor activities around government offices. This step aims to keep unauthorized agents away and ensure a smooth and transparent service for all citizens.
The administration is dedicated to creating an efficient process at the excise office, working actively to eliminate agents who interfere in official business for their benefit.
