Legendary Cricketer Praise Mohammad Rizwan’s Captaincy

Mohammad Rizwan’s captaincy during his side’s 2-1 series win against Australia has become the talk of the town with former cricketers and pundits alike praising the new Pakistani captain’s aggressive approach in the series.

Rizwan became the first captain from Pakistan in 22 years to lead his team to a series win against the Aussies on their turf since 2002 when Waqar Younis achieved the same with his team. Shoaib Akhtar, a member of that squad, has now praised Rizwan for injecting new faith into the team.

Addressing the triumph on his social media channel, the Rawalpindi Express was full of praise for everyone involved. He said,

Outstanding win after 22 years. I remember 2002 when we won the last series at the Gabba and it took the team 22 years to win again but these guys were brilliant. It was a comprehensive win against Australia. There is a change in the attitude because of Rizwan and Naseem, Shaheen, Haris, and Hasnain, everyone bowled solidly.

Pakistan’s improvement under Mohammad Rizwan’s captaincy was palatable from the very first game. Despite setting a low total in the opener the team almost pulled off the upset before two comprehensive wins got the job done.

The commentary panel was quick to praise his field placement and rotation of his bowlers which many criticized Babar Azam for.

With momentum on their side, Rizwan and co will look to win the T20 Series as well which begins on November 14th at the Gabba.

A win in the T20s would skyrocket the expectations from the team, especially with the Champions Trophy coming soon.
