FOX Cricket commentators Adam Gilchrist and Michael Vaughn have named Pakistan’s former captain and coach Javed Miandad as the greatest batter produced by the country.
The duo was asked of their top three picks in a segment hosted by the channel during the third ODI between Pakistan and Australia just like a few days prior when Wasim Akram and co were asked to name their picks as best players from the country.
Both the Australian and the former English captain named Javed Miandad as their number-one pick ahead of some of the greatest batters to come out of the country.
Miandad, a fearless cricketer in his time, beat out Inzaman ul Haq and Muhammad Yousuf in Gilchrest’s list while he was ranked above Babar Azam and Imzamam by Vaughn.
The former captain of the Pakistan cricket team scored a staggering 8832 test runs for his side in 124 matches while also adding 7381 runs from 233 matches in ODI cricket. Gilchrist argued that Miandad had to face superior bowling line-ups in his time which swayed the results in his favour.
