PMDC Approves Changes to MDCAT Format

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has approved IBA Sukkur’s request to include four multiple-choice options in the new Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT).

In a response letter to IBA Sukkur, the PMDC registrar confirmed agreement to a standardized, single version of the test paper across the province, while recommending the use of different paper codes for consistency, as is done in other regions of the country.

The letter also stated that PMDC has no objection to each MCQ containing four answer choices aligned with the OMR answer sheet, a practice already adopted in other provinces. For additional guidance, the PMDC advised IBA University to refer to the MDCAT curriculum and the PMDC Notification dated 04-08-2024.
