Huawei has unveiled the top-tier models in its Mate 70 series, the Mate 70 Pro+ and Mate 70 RS, both designed to offer enhanced durability, performance, and design. These models build upon the Mate 70 Pro with upgraded materials, larger batteries, and additional RAM, making them standout options for users seeking premium devices, at least in China.
The Mate 70 RS takes durability further with dual-layer OLED technology and Basalt tempered Kunlun Glass for additional screen protection. Both models share the same 6.9-inch LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. But the Mate 70 RS achieves a brighter 3,500 nits peak brightness compared to the 2,500 nits of the Pro+.
The Mate 70 Pro+ features a durable rear panel crafted from gold threads and brocade fiber, a textured material that offers impact resistance and a unique light-reflective design. The frame boasts a high-brightness titanium alloy, ensuring exceptional strength and outstanding resistance to scratches and drops. With an IP69 rating, it is fully equipped to withstand water and dust, offering top-tier protection.
The Mate 70 Pro+ is available in Ink Black, Feather White, Gold, Silver Brocade, and Flying Blue while the Mate 70 RS comes in Red, White, and Black.
The two flagships likely feature Huawei’s Kirin 9020 chipset, which falls behind the current generation of rival flagship chips. With an impressive 16 GB of RAM, these devices will provide seamless multitasking and a smooth user experience. They will operate on the latest HarmonyOS 4.3, offering numerous enhancements to optimize usability.
In addition, both phones will include Baidu Satellite Connectivity for improved navigation and accuracy in location tracking. The incorporation of an Ark Engine will further enhance system performance, ensuring that applications run smoothly and responsively.
Both devices feature an advanced triple rear camera system. The main camera includes a 50MP sensor with a variable aperture of f/1.4 to f/4.0, providing excellent control for various lighting conditions. A 40MP ultrawide lens captures vast scenes, while a 48MP telephoto lens offers 4x optical zoom for distant subjects.
All cameras utilize Huawei’s RYYB sensor technology for enhanced low-light performance and color accuracy. The device features a powerful 13MP front-facing camera, ensuring high-quality selfies and video calls.
The Mate 70 Pro+ and Mate 70 RS come equipped with a massive 5,700mAh battery, ensuring exceptional performance that lasts all day long. For fast charging capabilities, these models support a robust 100W wired charging option, letting users quickly power up their devices. Additionally, they feature an advanced 80W wireless charging system.
The Mate 70 Pro+ comes with prices starting at €1,120 for the 16/512 GB model and €1,250 for 16 GB/1 TB in China. The Mate 70 RS is priced at €1,580 for the 16/512 GB model and €1,710 for 16 GB/1 TB.
