PIA to Resume Flights to Two European Cities

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will resume direct flights to Europe within the next 10 days, with initial routes planned for Manchester and Paris. The airline has completed the necessary arrangements, and flights are expected to begin once final approval is granted by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

Previously, PIA operated flights to several European destinations, including Barcelona, Birmingham, Bradford, and London, and is now looking to expand to cities such as Copenhagen, Oslo, and Amsterdam.

In addition to Europe, PIA plans to reintroduce flights to New York, pending approval from the United States. The airline has allocated six Boeing 777 aircraft for operations in Europe, the UK, and the US to rebuild its international network.

The end of the EASA ban, which had been in place for three years due to safety and licensing concerns, marks a significant milestone for Pakistan’s aviation industry.

Defense and Aviation Minister Khawaja Asif welcomed the decision, highlighting improvements in safety and operations, with recent audits showing Pakistani airlines outperforming many global carriers.
