Altamush Saeed, founder of Pakistan’s 1st Animal Law Firm is battling for the rights of stray animal rights once again, and this time in Rawalpindi. Saeed is currently fighting a court case in Rawalpindi against the culling of 5200 stray dogs.
As part of the case, he is pressing for the sterilization and vaccination of 5200 stray dogs instead of culling them. The District Council Rawalpindi is currently inviting sealed bids for this purpose, which is in accordance with the Dog Birth Control Policy.
The 5,200 dogs are requested to be captured and sent over to the livestock department for their vaccination and sterilization. Any successful bidder for this request will be required to sign a contract agreement with the District Council Rawalpindi before commencing the work. The contractor must of course ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws, including NTN (National Tax Number) and PRA (Punjab Revenue Authority) registration.
This should mark significant progress for the safety of stray dogs in Rawalpindi, which are often killed in mass numbers for the sake of population control and more. This would also come as another win for Altamush Saeed, who became the first-ever recipient of the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Spark Award at the Humane Society of the United States Expo 2024 earlier this year.
Saeed also runs Pakistan’s first animal welfare law firm and is a lawyer fighting all over Pakistan for animal rights with an Animal law, Environmental Law, Human Rights, and International Law Masters from top Lewis and Clark Law School and the University of Michigan law school in addition to Lahore University of Management Science.
He works alongside his team consisting of Advocate Ahmed Shoaib Atta and Mian Ahmad Farooq. Thanks to his firm, anyone from Pakistan can hire his services to fight for animal rights in courts.

What about cats??? These dogs kill cats in a large number so U don’t work for animal rights but instead dog rights only.what about children n people who are bitten by these dogs.so these dogs have to eat something.if they didn’t find food they start eating cats n human flesh.do U have their food arrangements???
They’re in the cities firstly because THEY FIND FOOd in the filth that we humans throw. In which world are humans and cats part of the food chain of dogs lol??? Yes sometimes they bite people because have you seen the way people beat them? They never bite those people who are kind to them and feed them. This dunya was NOT only made for humans learn to live with other creatures Allah has created just like He has created you
Truth is stranger then fiction. Must go and visit the house of people whose children are bitten by these dog they tell you the true story.
I agree with you.. this is not the resolution just winning the baseless case they should also do something for their food so that they cant harm other animals and Humans.
Your comment shows you only rely on Facebook reels for information. Dogs don’t eat cats and humans, even if they don’t have food. The case is specifically culling dogs, which is why this law firm is fighting against it.
It is just a business in the name of animal rights. Human life is much more important then dogs, but nobody cares about it. NGO’s get donation and enjoy.
