The Punjab cabinet has approved a significant increase in the salaries of provincial assembly members, 24NewsHD TV reported on Thursday.
Under the revised structure, Members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs) will now receive Rs500,000 per month. The Speaker of the Punjab Assembly will earn Rs1 million, while the Deputy Speaker’s salary will rise to Rs800,000.
Provincial ministers will also see their salaries increased to Rs1 million each, with parliamentary secretaries receiving Rs600,000 per month. Special assistants and advisors will now earn Rs700,000 monthly.
A formal bill to ratify these salary adjustments will be introduced in the Provincial Assembly for final approval.
