The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) is taking steps to keep the Rawalpindi Ring Road project on track, despite facing a shortage of staff in the Project Management Unit (PMU). Director General Kinza Murtaza clarified that the PMU has not been shut down and that measures are in place to ensure the project continues without delay.
Last month, three senior officials, including a financial expert, environment specialist, and an administrative official, resigned from their positions in the PMU. In response, the RDA has appointed officials to temporarily fill these roles. This ensures that the essential work of the project will not come to a halt.
To further support the PMU’s functioning, additional responsibilities have been given to RDA officials. This will help manage the project effectively and prevent any delays. These proactive steps aim to ensure the timely completion of the Ring Road project, which is crucial for improving infrastructure and reducing traffic congestion in Rawalpindi.
Kinza Murtaza emphasized that the project is moving forward with full commitment and support from RDA leadership. The Rawalpindi Ring Road remains a key initiative to enhance connectivity and address the region’s traffic issues.
