Islamabad’s Serena Chowk Underpass to be Completed in 60 Days

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced that the Serena Chowk underpass will be completed within 60 days, while the Jinnah Avenue underpass is set for completion by December 31. These timelines aim to ensure timely delivery and avoid unnecessary delays.

According to sources, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) plans to host a New Year ceremony at the Jinnah Avenue underpass if it meets the deadline. The minister clarified that the Serena Chowk underpass project has a strict 60-day deadline.

An official close to the minister shared that Mr. Naqvi is actively monitoring the progress of both projects. He regularly receives updates and visits the construction sites whenever possible. During his latest visit on Friday, the minister emphasized the importance of completing the projects on time to avoid cost overruns.

CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa stated that, following the minister’s directives, work on both underpasses will continue around the clock. He assured the public that these projects would be completed promptly, setting a milestone in Islamabad’s development history. The timely completion of these underpasses will enhance connectivity and contribute to the city’s infrastructure.
