Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved a new initiative to offer valuable experience and mentorship to young lawyers.
The Law Graduate Internship Program will allow recent law graduates in the province to gain practical insights into legal practice.
The program aims to bridge the gap between academic training and the skills needed for professional legal work. Eligible candidates are those who graduated within the last two years (from January 1, 2023, to November 30, 2024) and are registered with the bar council during the same period.
1,500 law graduates will be selected each year, with 500 slots available. A merit-based lottery system will determine the chosen candidates. The program also emphasizes inclusivity, reserving 5% of positions for candidates with disabilities, 25% for women, and 35% for new graduates from South Punjab.
Selected participants will receive a monthly stipend of Rs75,000 and will be placed in offices of the Advocate General across Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi, and Bahawalpur, based on their locality.
