The Pakistan Navy has officially commissioned its Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV), PNS YAMAMA, at Constanta Port in Romania.
During the ceremony, Vice Admiral Muhammad Faisal Abbasi, the chief guest, presented the ceremonial Scroll to the commanding officer of PNS YAMAMA.
The event was also attended by Rear Admiral Marian Ciobotaru, Deputy Fleet Commander of the Romanian Navy, and Arshad Jaan Pathan, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Romania.
In his address, the Vice Admiral emphasized the importance of this new addition to the Navy, highlighting the enhanced operational capabilities PNS YAMAMA brings. He explained that these vessels are built to strengthen the Navy’s ability to carry out a wide range of maritime operations.
Earlier this year, on September 6, the Pakistan Navy welcomed the first ship of OPV Batch II into its fleet.
Vice Admiral Abbasi also praised DAMEN Shipyards for their professionalism and dedication. He expressed optimism about future collaborations that will continue to introduce advanced technologies to the Pakistan Navy.
