Mohammad Rizwan Makes History with Back-to-Back Triumphs as Captain

Mohammad Rizwan’s tenure as captain of the Pakistan Cricket team continued to presage good times for fans after his side’s latest triumph against South Africa. His side’s win against the Proteas has etched his name in cricketing history by helping him become the first-ever Pakistan captain to lead the team to ODI series victories in both South Africa and Australia—two of the most challenging destinations for Pakistan.

Historically, Pakistani players have struggled in the two nations given the drastic change in playing conditions which usually offer more pace and bounce to the bowlers, something Pakistani players have struggled with. However, the team rallied behind their new skipper, conquering the two countries one after the other.

Mohammad Rizwan was confirmed as Pakistan’s captain ahead of their tour to Australia and led the team to a 2-1 ODI series win.  In South Africa, Rizwan guided the Men in Green to a historic series triumph with a game to spare, making Pakistan the only team in the 21st century to win three bilateral ODI series on South African soil.

These back-to-back historic series wins have elevated Rizwan’s stature as a leader, cementing his legacy as one of Pakistan’s most impactful captains.
