New Zealand’s star all-rounder, Daryl Mitchell, has officially registered for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 Draft, adding another marquee international name to the pool of players set to feature in Pakistan’s premier T20 competition.
Daryl Mitchell, who has become a mainstay in New Zealand’s cricket setup, brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in the game’s shortest format to the PSL 10’s player draft. Known for his aggressive batting, better-than-average bowling, and electric fielding, Mitchell’s inclusion is expected to boost the competition’s quality and attract global attention.
With his ability to adapt across formats, Mitchell has become one of the most dependable all-rounders in world cricket. His recent performances in international leagues have showcased his match-winning abilities, making him a valuable asset for any PSL franchise. He had previously flaunted his creditonal all across the globe including India’s IPL, England’s The Hundred, and Vitality Blast, and was set to appear in Major League Cricket for Texas Super Kings before an injury ruled him out.
Daryl Mitchell joins a growing list of international stars who have entered the draft pool for PSL 10. The player draft will take place in Gwadar, Balochistan, on January 11, 2025, marking the first time the event is being held in the scenic coastal city.
The draft pick order has already been announced, with Lahore Qalandars, the two-time champions, getting the first pick in the platinum category, followed by arch-rivals Karachi Kings. Former champions Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, and reigning champions Islamabad United will follow in that order.
Mitchell’s registration further bolsters the international flavor of PSL 10. He joins other foreign players such as Alex Carey, Usman Khawaja, Jason Roy, Dawid Malan, and Shakib Al Hasan, who have already committed to the draft. The inclusion of such high-profile players reflects the PSL’s rising stature as one of the top T20 leagues in the world.
